Ember Turns 12!

Author: Kathy DelMedico

Life has changed as we know it, but the need for connection has never been stronger. We have adapted to working fully remote, home schooling our children, seeing colleagues and partners lose their jobs, watching friends and family distance themselves and the postponement or cancellation of gatherings.  It’s terrifying, yet reality, so we have to choose how to move forward.

Ember thrives on gatherings.  It’s what we do, it’s who we are, and it’s how we live!  Every April we celebrate one very special event, our birthday. This year we turned 12! Chris and I have the privilege of planning this event for our team – it’s part exploratory, part educational, part creative and an overwhelming amount of togetherness and fun. So, in a world of social distancing and stay at home orders, how do we continue the celebration? Online of course!

Although our birthday event was not as originally planned (I can’t give away all of those secrets because our 13th birthday may look exactly like our 12th was supposed to), it was just what we all needed.  Time together to celebrate the Ember family complete with a toga dress code, ‘Quarantini’ specialty cocktails, games, and a surprise masked guest!!!

We are thankful for the last twelve years and we look forward to celebrating many more birthdays together.
